Invermere

Grampa Jar, Granny Bean, Nana and Papa had fun with their grandchildren in Invermere  (while Jim and Carmen  were away celebrating their 15th anniversary) boating, playing on the beach , eating  lots of treats and thoroughly spoiling them.

Chamonix

We were lucky here as well, being able to see Mt Blanc from our room! We took the cable car to the top and viewed the amazing panorama of mountains stretching into Italy and Switzerland as well as France. We also watched some climbers where no man should dare to go. On the following days we did some very enjoyable hikes and loved strolling Chamonix and trying cheese fondu.

Zermatt

From our bed in Zermatt we could see the Matterhorn in the am against bright blue sky and in the pm in apenglow. Hiking below it we traversed flower filled meadows where cows grazed and  cowbells tinkled. Another day we hiked up to the Thrift Hut for  more delicious food

Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Mirren

Hiked in and around these delightful villages and enjoyed more great food

Grindelwald

From our bed  in Gridelwald we had a fabulous view  at the Eiger.  We took the train up to the Jungfraujoch, which is the top of Europe at 4158 m. From there we hiked across a snowy glacier to a hut perched on the side of the  Monch for lunch. We also toured ice corridors lined with ice sculptures all carved out of the glacier.
